The Ricci Program marked the beginning of its new term with a reunion of educators and participants, reflecting on this summer’s impactful Intercultural Immersion Experience. Led by a survey conducted by program team member Ana Winston, reflections highlighted the personal connections and rich cultural insights gained from the trip. Heartfelt thanks go to Ana and all who contributed.
This term, the Ricci Program focuses on active engagement through four collaborative project groups, each aimed at fostering cultural exchange and understanding. Designed to build on last year’s foundation, the projects encourage participants to apply their skills and creativity, bridging gaps between Chinese and American cultures. Highlights include:
Astor Court Reinterpretation at the Metropolitan Museum, where participants will explore the connections between Suzhou Gardens and New York City’s Astor Court, blending educational and cultural elements.
The Ricci Channel, which will feature podcasts of dialogues between Ricci-Guangqi Scholars, guided by faculty to offer unique perspectives on culture and community.
News-in-the-News, a project focusing on US-China relations, where participants will produce multimedia stories that present dual perspectives on current issues affecting both nations.
Education in Our Future, continuing dialogues with Jiangsu Province on student mental health, exchange programs, and evolving educational practices.
The Ricci Program’s mission remains committed to fostering intercultural understanding through hands-on learning and mutual exchange, setting an inspiring example for global cooperation in education.
This term promises an exciting journey of collaboration, discovery, and community building for everyone involved.
